im trying to paint my center console but i need to pull out/ disconnect the AC unit to do so, but dammit i cant figue out what the hell is holding it and how to remove it !!

If your unit is the same as mine, it is the temperature knob that is holding it in.
I've done it a few times and yanking it hard seems to disconnect the temp knob, and everything just comes right out
