 Burning Smell, Burning Smell coming from subwoofers. |

I hooked up my 1600 watt max amplifier to my 2 800 watt max Kicker subwoofers. After turning it up and letting it pound for about 10 minutes, a burning smell came from the subwoofers. I looked this problem up on the internet and it said that it could be burning off some of the glue from the factory or some dust on the subs. I know I did drill a hole in the box with the subs in it and there may still be some saw dust in it. Could that be it? I have no idea. Please Help!! THANKS ALOT

so bump ur other thread dont make another i can be an ass if i want its the internet.If its saw dust then i wont smell like something is burning. Also what ohm load are you running the amp at and your 1600 watt amp is let me guess an 800.4. is the amp clipping poppin in and out. smoke and a buring smell from a subwoofer is coil, plain and simple.
