I hooked up my 1600 watt max amplifier to my 2 800 watt max Kicker subwoofers. After turning it up and letting it pound for about 10 minutes, a burning smell came from the subwoofers. I looked this problem up on the internet and it said that it could be burning off some of the glue from the factory or some dust on the subs. I know I did drill a hole in the box with the subs in it and there may still be some saw dust in it. Could that be it? I have no idea. Please Help!! THANKS ALOT

are your subs dual 4ohms or dual 2 ohms. They should have sold you dual 2s, it also says on the box. If you didnt see smoke but dust then ok, but the smell is coil its common when a fresh sub is beat on, or over powered.so depending how long you have had them alittle smell is ok, and kickers are known for the smell, you just dont want to push then that hard all the time. clipping is when the output goes from AC to DC and thats bad when ur sub places DC.
