I hooked up my 1600 watt max amplifier to my 2 800 watt max Kicker subwoofers. After turning it up and letting it pound for about 10 minutes, a burning smell came from the subwoofers. I looked this problem up on the internet and it said that it could be burning off some of the glue from the factory or some dust on the subs. I know I did drill a hole in the box with the subs in it and there may still be some saw dust in it. Could that be it? I have no idea. Please Help!! THANKS ALOT

OK thanks for you help! I dont know if the subs are dual 4 or 2ohms. I kind of threw this system together
I bought the subs in a box for 120. They never had a problem before. Will the sub be ok it I continue to smell that burning smell? What else can I do? I turned the gain half way down and the crossover off. I also turned the bass boost half way down. Thanks A LOT -------------------- !!KANER!!
