alright i am gonna ask a random question right now, but bear with the fact that i don't own a celica, my friend does and she wants to get a bypass valve for the CAI. the only thing is i don't know what size piping the intake piping is to get the bypass valve. So my question is what is the size of the piping for the 1.8L engine in the 97 celicas?

Piping is something around 2". And a bypass value is worthless. Seriously, unless your going in water over a foot deap, they won't do anything. And the stock box protects the car pretty well as is. There isn't much need for this mod.

EDIT: I changed my mind. There is abolutely no need for this mod. The air intake is up at the top with the stock intake. A bypass value couldn't get more than 1-2 inches higher than the box. There is no point at all. Spend that $45 on something usefull.
