alright i am gonna ask a random question right now, but bear with the fact that i don't own a celica, my friend does and she wants to get a bypass valve for the CAI. the only thing is i don't know what size piping the intake piping is to get the bypass valve. So my question is what is the size of the piping for the 1.8L engine in the 97 celicas?

I could have swar i posted in this thread earlyer today.
anyway, if you have a stock intake there is NO need for a bypass valve (coming from someone who has one) only if you have a CAI where the filter is located near or low to the ground do you need one in the event it gets submured under water so the motor does not suck up water into your motor and cause hydrolock, and fatal damage, I have had this problem due to my intake being submurged in high water. a stock intake system will not have this problem, at most your engine would die and just need a restart. QUOTE driving in an area like Washington state lol yeah. you cant really ask us to get the size for you, i mean I'm happy to help but for something as easy as taking a tepe measure and reading the number...... also if you have an aftermerket intake no one can tell ya what it is, just have to check, and if you do measure the outside diamitar (meaning the full diamitar including the metel.)
