alright... i did do a search for HID's but it seems there are completely different views on the subject
i'm thinking of getting some for my fogs and/or my lowbeams (the kit thats for sale in the B/S Forum)... now I thought everything was just put them in and go. I have stock headlights, and have recently been told that putting HID's in there will cause glare, blind other drivers, etc etc and that i have to retrofit another housing into the lights to make it proper. Is this the case? Now the other alternative, which i dream of every night before i go to sleep, is getting projectors.. but how much would those be just for the lowbeams? and do you put in the HID bulbs with those, or do they come with bulbs when you get them (from toyotaworld was where i thought most people were getting them from right?) anyways.. i'm just really confused because one person will say they're fine in stock headlights, and the next person says theyre no good... someone let me know pleaaaaaaaaaaaase! ![]() -------------------- lissa | 1997 Celica Convertible

QUOTE(yyet @ Feb 7, 2006 - 10:49 AM) I'm having the same problem tooooo... i just bought HID bults for my low beams and highs... but i wanted to cheap out and just put them into my stock outlets. Keep me posted with this info, great job guys... and ladies so you bought JUST HID bulbs? what's the wattage on those things? if you JUST bought HID bulbs you run a high risk of melting your wiring harness too... and um... HIDs for high beams doesn't seem too good of an idea since they take a while to actually 'turn on'. flashing people with those would kill your bulbs incredibly fast QUOTE(lil_lissa @ Feb 5, 2006 - 11:34 PM) my main concern is just that i'll get a set of HIDs, and put them in my stock headlight housing, and then there will be too much glare, i'll get hasselled by the cops, i'll be blinding other drivers, etc etc i want to make sure that doesn't happen to be honest, there's a really high chance you WON'T get pulled over for your lights... but there will be glare. and because of the lenses and since the reflectors we have aren't made for hids..... the beam won't light up as much as it should This post has been edited by elvasoshexai: Feb 7, 2006 - 2:10 PM -------------------- |
