have a question about stock buying and selling Options

just wondering if any of you guys buy and sell stock online for extra money or if any of you ever thought about doing it?? a guy i kind of know does it and makes some mad money off of it but i wasn't sure if it was really hard to do. if anybody could help it would be greatly appreciated. thanks

for beginning investors, I recommend using a broker for advice.

i wouldnt recommend a broker. personally i think its way more benenficial to learn firsthand how investing works. before you start though, read some books on it to give you a firm base of knowledge. i found the dummies books to be pretty good (theres one on investing, stocks, mutual funds. i would read all three at least). also, remember the stock market is only one facet of investing. i suggest dipping your toes first into mutual funds, they might have a lower ROI than stocks, but theyre also generally much less risky. good luck and have fun, its all a game, it really is. just make sure you know the rules and youll do fine .
