Painted my car over the weekend using cans, "flat black". Tell me what you guys think. All my friends think I'm psycho, one of my friends said it looks like a Batmobile now.
All body work done by myself, I had no experience in body work before so I think it was good experience for me. Check out the 96-99 clear turns. I'm probably going to wet sand the whole car this weekend there is some over saturation/ overspray in some areas. Pics taken with my camera phone, car is a little ashy from the fires Cali's been having 30-40 miles away...: You're looking at 96-99 clear turns custom molded on to a c-one style bumper. (Shaved antenna hole, metal mesh and bondo ) This post has been edited by Chanh55: Feb 16, 2006 - 6:56 PM |

I have a hotwheels 6th gen on my desk that I painted flat black because it had a really nice flat blue but with some gay ricer cop symbols all over it. After I painted it I told myself if I ever get around to putting a GT4 front end and stock hood (I love the gt4 stock hood so much - kinda don't like the bumper as much as mine though) on my car I would paint it flat black - professionally though. Good work - my 4th gen looked horrible when I did the same to it. You could see all the lines in it from using spray cans though LOL. flat black 4th gen? that reminds me of this awesome piece of work 4th gen. too bad the after pics arent working . that thing looked slick though. The pics are working now. Chan, I really like your Celica. I think it looks great in flat black. If you want a satin sort of finish, John Deere Blitz Black paint works well, and it's around $26 a gallon I think. It's held up very well on my bro's Celica and was shot through a HVLP eBay special gun (like $30 shipped ) but still came out pretty well I think. Anyway, great work...what color do you plan to paint it if you can get it shot with a base coat/clear coat? Black again? -------------------- New Toyota project coming soon...
