i was talking about fabricating or modifying the BRACKET for the caliper, not the disk or the lugs. i was looking for a cheap alternative to buying a brake kit for $700. i wanted the bigger disks for 75%looks as this is a daily driver. so thanks for the input. maybe i will try this mod when i get more money....but then i could probably buy a kit

yea i know wat your talking about. its my bad for loosing my cool.
my point is things like brakes is a place where you don't want to be cheap. like for the fronts i'm currently working on the 7th gen compatability for conversion and upgrade to big brakes. BUT with the rears we are pretty much stuck there due to the fact of the internal ebrake, caliper bracket..and a few other features its not sumthing you can just pick and chose really. and you don't wanna just grab some 1/2" thick steel drill it away and extend it out so you can slap your 6gc calipers on some grandam rotor..because its teh same bolt pattern. also front rotors on the rear? i mean just cause they share the same technical name doesn't mean they are the same they are VERY different. (assumed basic cars 101) to properly get "big brake" rear brakes you would HAVE to have a custom rotor made that would remain the same on the inside in order to allow for the ebrake system to properly function and then have a custom caliper/braket made to accept the larger rotor diameter and fully cover. as well as the proper rotor depth to allow wheel, braket ect.. alignment and systems to function its not just as easy as pick and slap on... |
