I remember a big debate a while back about the Celica being a sports car, well it's considered a Japanese sports car by the Wikipedia. Either way it's opinion but IMO it is seeing as it's somewhat light, good maneuverability, good looks, and can have good performance.

And i dont think that anybody is really trying to say that the GT4 is not a sports car. Hint: WRC champion and ralying is a sport. Therefore, a sports car should be considered any kind of car that is built to be able to participate in racing and in general offer the driver something more than moving him from one place to the other. true QUOTE(creamed_corn @ Feb 14, 2006 - 9:46 PM) QUOTE(tomazws @ Feb 14, 2006 - 3:13 PM) Baseline: Celica = Economical Sports Car, or an Entry Level Sports Car... Wannabe Sports Car... Kinda Sports but Not Too Sports Car... Corvette, Ferrari, Porsche... bla bla = Exotic Sports Car, Fast Sports Car, OMG I Need Gas Again Sports Car.... Corvette's may be fast, but there's nothing exotic about them. You can go into any podunk town in America and find at least a dozen of them. how many z06 vettes have you seen, and they are exotic with a 0-60 faster that all but 1 ferrari, I see plenty of Z06's, unless you're specifying the NEW 2006 model that's only been on sale for a short time and will comprise anywhere between 20-30% of all new corvette production. It's only a matter of time before you see one of them in every town as well. Now here's some trivia: how many Enzo's are being made? just because a high number of that car is driven around your town doesnt mean its still not a sports car. come to souther california for one day and you will see what i mean... i see at least a dozen s500's in the 10 miles i drive to school... i see dozens of z06's... i see ferrari's and lamborginis on a daily basis (a silver ferrari 550 almost hit me today), my neighbor's daily driver is a very nice rx7... i dont think anyone here would argue that just because i see a lot of those cars every day that that makes them any less of a sports car. |
