So, is it pointless to build a high hp fwd? I have never driven one with too high of hp. I've driven some powerful rwd though. I did think that it would be really hard to put the power to the ground with fwd, so I made up my mind to get rid of the Celica when I have the money to start building something. Then I started doing a lot of research and seen a good bit of 300-400hp fwd cars. Most are Honda's. And I've seen some at the drag track that hook up. I know at the tracks there is a lot of variables that are better than on the street. It seems to me, that you're making it sound like a fwd car can not hook up at all, and it's pointless to build one. All this talk about srt-4s on the forums lately has spiked my interest in this, btw. I know it's pulling the car, not pushing. And I also know that race cars have significant weight reduction, so more wieght it up front. But still, I don't think it's as impossible as your making it sound. Maybe I will have to drive one to see what you are talking about. I'll see if I can't go to the Dodge dealership and check out an srt-4 sometime this week. high HP FWD are rediculous without wiiide slicks how many of us drive around with 10" wides daily? they will never hook up like RWD cars or with a "little clutch feathering" |
