How does one tell if they have a shortshifter installed or not?

I bought my car last fall and noticed it's been modified slightly by one of the previous owners.. ie, cat taken out, magnaflow exhaust put in, redded out tails.. so I'm looking at buying at 7th gen short shifter since there's so many positive reactions from it, but if there's one in there already, I don't want to waste my time/money. tongue.gif

I suppose the easiest way was if someone local would let me drive their celica or vice versa, and they know the part in their car, but is there another way?

I can get some pics if that helps, but with the shift boot in the way, it's not exactly easy to measure lengths and such.

I might've answered my own question but would like some verification.. for all you who put in the 7th gen short shifters, from what I've seen on ebay, all the shifters are one perfectly straight piece..

From looking at the "how-to" and the pic that is there, the stock shifters seem to have a "bend" in the middle, and I can feel that bend under my shift boot.. so that means I've got a stock one, right?
