I've been searching around for about the last half hour and it seems that there has been some confusion when it comes to the proper fuel pump to install. It also seems like people hate their walbro because of the noise they make. So I have a few questions, maybe you guys could help me clear some things up.
I have a stock 5s-fe and I plan to someday swap the 3s... someday (sigh) I was wondering if it's ok to use the 255lph fuel pump on a stock 5s, it seems mine might be going out. Lately I've been having a hard time starting then engine, at first it won't start then it struggles and for a minute it runs at a very low rpm(around 250-500). It seems like I'm having to build up fuel pressure before the engine will operate correctly. I read that lagos was using the oem supra fuel pump(was it the TT version?) but the walbro ones are going for $100 shipped off of ebay. If the noise is too obnoxious, I might just go for an oem supra fuel pump. I think lagos said in another thread that he payed $200 for his. Does anyone have an audio clip of the sound of the fuel pump? I'm not opposed to noise unless it makes me cringe/go deaf. So, in short, -does this sound like I need a new fuel pump -which walbro works? (the supra 86-92 turbo or 93-98 turbo?) -will I be pissed about the noise? --------------------

Its pretty loud, but if you're seriously considering swappin in a 3s at some point, and you dont mind listening to your radio at medium volume then just get the walbro. It wont cause any harm for your car to run it if thats what you are asking?
