The Supra and MR2 meets took years to get where they are. You can't just expect everyone to show up at once. Take Pigeon Forge as an example, last fall there were 6 cars, this spring(2 weeks ago) there were 12 of us, and there is another meet in the fall(well, it's being worked on). It didn't start as much, but it's already starting to get attention, and many more people would like to come next time now that they see how much fun we had.
If we get many smaller meets started, then maybe we can converge on a central location later, but I don't think it can be done by just starting one and trying to make it huge. Give it some time. And don't exclude other generations. For one thing, there just aren't enough 6th gens out there to have a huge meet, and for another, it's snobbish. I don't know about you, but I love almost every generation of Celica(and miss my 3rd gen very much). But, if you do get TRD there, I need to make it to Kansas City sometime to visit old friends, so I should be able to make it. And by 2005 I should be done changing things on my car and have it ready for show. |
