Just bought a '95 celica ST. Needs an oil change, is 5w/30 ok? Reason is I also have a 2002 camry that uses that, it would be nice to stock one oil for both cars..

I alternate between 5w30 and 10w30. Doesn't really matter. Once the car is warmed up, both oils offer the same protection. Just be gentle on accelleration until she's warmed up.
Best things you can do for your car: Not drive hard (even I ignore this one) Let car warm up before driving hard (very important) Change the oil and filter regularly (very important) By the way - I have over 230,000 miles on my lil 1.8L and it's still running strong. And, I use dino oil - never used synthetic. This post has been edited by Jeremiah: Mar 21, 2006 - 4:50 AM |
