I need help. I was trying to take my rims off to put the stock 14" tires on because I need to refurbish some of the rims. I kinda broke the key that takes my lugs off. So I went to Advance Auto Parts and the guy told me I needed to buy a deep socket. I don't think the guy knew what he was talking about... I don't have stock lugs. My neighbor said something about grided or gorilla lugs... I'm not sure. But the point is, I have two problems.
I need to know where I can find anohter key to take off / put on the lugs. Anyone know where I can find one and the specific name for these? AND If you look at the last pic, you'll notice the broken piece got stuck around the lug. Any ideas on how to remove this? Thanks. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() -------------------- ![]() |

QUOTE(JFrost9 @ Mar 26, 2006 - 7:03 PM) just use a flat head screw driver and pry it off... Dont goto a auto parts store to find those, goto some kinda wheel/tire place. You guys are awesome. I went to a tire/wheel place and they knew exactly what I was talking about and it only cost $4.27.QUOTE(Batman722 @ Mar 26, 2006 - 8:11 PM) for the broken key part on the lug...try needle nose vise grips, should work just fine. Thanks. I'll definitely try the flat head screwdriver and the nose vise grips.QUOTE(Verde97 @ Mar 27, 2006 - 4:46 PM) Also, after you get if fixed, just buy some regular lugs because people don't steal wheels anymore really, they just steal the whole car. Lol. Unfortunately that's so true. But the safer the better. The key was only 4 bucks. That at least removes the the novice thieves from the list. Not everyone knows how to hot-wire a car and not everyone carries different keys for lugs, but just about everyone has a cross bar to remove lugs in their trunk. But I get what you mean, I'd just rather be on the safe side.-------------------- ![]() |
