ok I know this is gonna be really messed up.. but I got a question..

I've owned my 6gc for like 7 years now and all of a sudden I am not sure if my headlight stake is working.

so my question is: when the headlight is OFF when you pull on the stake you flash high beam.. but what is supposed to happen when you PUSH the stake in??? is it supposed to do NOTHING or does it turn on HIGHBEAM??? I could not find the answer in the manual!! I could've sworn that should turn on highbeam and now it's broke.

yes after owning this car for 7 years I don't remember how the headlight is supposed to operate!

yep just tried this yesterday
if the lights aren't turned on, pulling the high beam stick won't do anything
only if your lights are on will it flash

oh no your light stick is broken!! or maybe it's because yours a 97 while mine is a 98?? I can certainly flash to pass without having to switch on the headlights first.

in any case the real point of my original post is not so much whether the light stick is supposed to work but rather after driving the car for so many years and through so many miles we (as evident by these posts) still cannot say with certainity how one of the most important controls in our car is supposed to operate.. at least not without checking.. and I thought I was the only one!!
