Well I just put my new clutch in the old 94 Gt celica that I just bought and lets say she isn't the quickest thing around. I only drove it before with a slipping clutch. So I was wondering
-Are there any performance chips out there that make an actual difference in power on this car? What do they cost? What are the names of the companies? -I beleive our motor is tuned for mileage and I was wondering if there was a chip that could make a difference here? |

Seems to be the biggest problem in the 5sfe is it runs rich, as far as ECU. A SAFC2 is going to give you control over that, and be your best bet. From what I've heard, and this is from a guy who built a 5sfe na, intake/header/exhaust, then safc2, then porting. He said those were the biggest gains he got. He also said, if he had to do it over, he would just have put a 3rd gen 3sge in it at first. He said he spent enough money trying to make power out of the 5sfe to do the swap 3 times. But those 4 things shouldn't cost too much as long as you buy the right stuff. Like the guys above me said, the 5sfe is not a real sport motor. Take it for what it is. It'll never make serious power, but it can be fun to play with.
