Hi guys, I currently have a Beams front clip from a st202 SSIII. I was wondering which trim of the 6 Gen will be the best bet, and have the least modifying to make the swap work. I'm currently looking at a 97 GT convertible 5spd that houses a 5sfe. Just by modify mr2's I know that anything that houses a 5sfe originally can support a 3s engine family with minor or no modifications needed.

The vert is something like 200lbs heavier and the lack of roof makes the car less stiff and handle a little worse. This really doesn't matter most of the time, but if you're going to put a high powered NA motor in, it does. Most NA applications are for cars that are built to be quick and snappy handling. I just think putting it in a vert is starting a little handicapped. But, it might not be as bad I'm thinking. Have you ever taken a ride in any 6gc vert? If so, have you ridden in one with high power? 200hp at the flywheel can be handled in these cars with NO problem. It's simple engineering, the vert has less support structure. The vert isn't going to have the rigidness of a coupe or hatch. And the vert is heavier. I'm sure it can handle all the power. That really isn't an issue. I'm sure your vert makes a good drag car, but a coupe or hatch with the same mods should go a little faster and turn a little better. I have never ridden in a 6gc vert. -------------------- Live Free, Be Happy
