I am thinking im going to 3sgte swap this summer and im looking and trannys now. I've located a e153 solara tranny from a 99-02 model and asked the guy if it had a lsd and he said he didn't know. is there anyway that one can tell just by looking at the tranny housing? THANKS

I moved it, because this transmission would only be used with a 3sgte. Anything related to the 3sgte will be moved to this forum. Engine/Transmision/Maintenance should be about the 5sfe, 7afe 3sge, and 4age engines and transmissions.
The E135 was never a stock Celica tranny. This question comes up time a swapper wants to use a e153 with a 3sgte swap. -------------------- ![]() I will return one day. |

QUOTE(defgeph @ Apr 13, 2006 - 9:46 AM) I moved it, because this transmission would only be used with a 3sgte. Not necessarily true. It'll bolt up to, and work just fine with, the 5SFE. 3SFE, 3SGE, and the Camy and Solara's V6 (all Naturally Aspirated). It may be more common right now for it to be used with the 3SGTE but In order to find this topic when this thread gets burried I think it should be in the sub-forum with "Transmission" in it's title. -------------------- ![]() Project ST204.5 99.88946% complete... |
