Hey all. I have a '96 'vert with a 5sfe and manual transmission. I am not the original owner. The car has this ECU 89661-2D410. The local dealer says this ECU is not spec'd for the Celica. Could all you 6th Gen. GT owners with manual transmissions respond with the part number of the ECU in your car? Also the model year and whether it is Federal or Calif emissions. Thanks.

Got this info from: http://www.enginecontrolunits.com/catalog/...CELICA/1996.htm

89661-2D410 GT L4-2164cc 2.2L 5SFE FI G FED W/MT TO 5/96 $399.95 $150.00 Check R&R

yours must be an early model

Have the Dealer check for a TSB to replace the ECU under emissions warranty see tech bulletins EG009-97 (for 97 models, the problem also affected some 96 GT 5 spd models
