this is the first time i've seen the the throttle body pipe go directly into the turbo like this
is there suppose to be no intercooler or something? cuz most of the time you would connect the piping of the throttle body to the intercooler, but wassup with this 5sfe? is this how you're suppose to turbo a 5sfe? This post has been edited by pure_dx: Apr 20, 2006 - 2:17 PM |

QUOTE(pure_dx @ Apr 21, 2006 - 5:16 AM) this is the first time i've seen the the throttle body pipe go directly into the turbo like this is there suppose to be no intercooler or something? cuz most of the time you would connect the piping of the throttle body to the intercooler, but wassup with this 5sfe? is this how you're suppose to turbo a 5sfe? Generally it is not a good idea to run without an intercooler due to detonation. If you are trying to see if you can get away without one, you will on low boost (up to 5psi). As a general rule detonation occurs around 110 degrees celcius. If you intake temp is below 110, you don't HAVE to cool the air first, but it always a good idea. I was running 4.5psi on the 5s-fe, with a rising rate fuel reg and no intercooler with no problems. |
