ever since my swap (5s to 5s) i have had a check engine light. it was only on sometimes before, but now it had been on for a solid 2 months now. now here is the problem... when i get it diagnosed, it says it is the cam positioning sensor. to my knowledge, and the knowledge of anyone else i have talked to, niether my old engine, nor the new engine have a cam positioning sensor. so my questions are if the car never had this part.. why the hell is the ecu looking for it, and how can i fix this problem?

I wonder if they mean crank position sensor. Do you know what the code is exactly or is a shop telling you?
Maybe this will help you: http://aarc.epnet.com/application/8959/895...8_MODELS.htm#T1 There is a camshaft sensor circuit malfunction but on the component location there isn't a cam sensor listed. Maybe if someone has a parts list handy they can find it? |
