Hey everyone,
Noob question here, so bear with me, since I couldn't find anything through searching. Just wondering what kind of fuel you guys put into your celicas. I realize that anyone with a swapped or Turbo'ed 6G obviously uses Premium, but what about those of you running 5SFE or 7AFE engines? I would think using a higher octane fuel would increase performance a bit, but does it? Or is it dangerous for the engine? Any more importantly, is it even worth it with the rising cost of gas... Thanks! |

QUOTE(CelicaGT04 @ May 19, 2006 - 12:19 AM) I dont notice any performance enhancement in the fuel, although i can say i have noticed before that i can go a few more days filling with 93 octane then the traditional 87 octane. It might be just the thought of it costing more making it seem that way. But i really think it burns more efficiently. I will try it and let you guys know. ive done this experiment time and time again... i live in charlotte and i work in monroe (30 miles away) i put premium in my car and by half tank its at 200 miles if i use a grade lower, or 87, the gas burns away quicker. for instance, i fill up monday morning and im at half at tank by wednesday afternoon. when i used the lower grade i was at a lower milage rate, and more gas was consumed... i would retest to ensure reliability, but i dont want to experiment with gas prices so high, i'll just stick with 93! ![]() ![]() -------------------- |
