Finally got round to taking a couple of pics. After finding the time the other week, battery was moved to the boot making room for the new WAI and cold air box set-up which is currently in the planning stage.

Next step is to cut off the OE battery tray and remove the rad overflow bottle which will be replaced with a custom made one. This will allow a custom cold air box to be mounted in that space with a short run to the turbo. Air feed to the box/filter will be from underneath.

A steel battery tray was fabricated which was securely bolted to the crossmember just behind the rear seats. Once all connected, a simple ally box was powdercoated and then fixed in place with 2 small bolts. Job done.

Definitely not much room in the boot on the WRC spec 4 due to the full size spare wheel. A sub box doesn't exactly help either rolleyes.gif

I'm gonna do the same thing. Placing the Battery in the boot. Gonna remove al the back materials thats there and weld a frame onto the chassis. Where did you put your ground wire? Welded a bolt to the chassis?

Just utilized an existing bolt hole on the rear crossmember. Stripped the paint back to bare metal and used a nut & bolt. Job done.
