Please excuse some statements that may sound kinda gay, it's just that I got real attached to my Celica since I first got it almost 2 years ago. I might be trading the Celica in for a Release Series 2.0 tC. I wish I could keep the Celi, but it's 12 years old and the motor's at 200,000+ miles. I had been in talks with someone to do a 4AGE Blktop 6 speed swap, but that's coming out to about $4,550 and my parents are really against it, especially sine I have to drive to another state to do it. Please don't ask if I'm selling anything off my car... I'll let you all know. Don't tell me who has dibs on what. In short, I've been searching for a brand new car and a Toyota. Toyota currently doesn't have a real wide selection of sports cars now... Thought about the Yaris because it's cheap, but it doesn't have 4 wheel disc brakes and I'm a little picky. If the MR2 was still in production, I'd get it because its rwd and lightweight and all that good stuff, but the best I could find in my area was a 2002 with 50,000 miles for 16 grand. So in looking for a brand new car, I found something that'll be unique and quick enough for me. Still not sure if I'll get it stick or auto. Most likely auto because I'm lazy, but that's how I felt about the Celicas and towards the end ended up wanting to convert it to manual. So I'm not too sure. I guess I'll drive a stick shift tC and see if I like how it feels on the tC. The interior looks comfortable, and for 18 thousand bucks, I think it's a great car. I would like to know what you guys think. I know how you most of you feel about your Celica's and are anti-anything-but-celica(especially hondas. lol). man, i really dont know what to do. let me know what u guys think.

I have a good friend that works for toyota. The TC is the toyota celica...basically when toyota decided to start the scion line with younger market target they decided to discontinue the celica a couple years thereafter when they were coming up with the idea for the tc. If you look at the toyota line up now there are no real sports or sporty cars in the us market(jdm market yes but thats lexus here). The TC stands for Toyota Celica. If you look very closely to the tc and the 7th gen celica side by side you will actually notice some very close styling cues and likenesses. I've driven the tc and love it. it reminds me alot of my celica. Before i lost my celica i was thinking about doing the silver or blacktop swap and was going to do it because it was more practicle for me and i do all my own work, but thinkin back on it now going with the tc or another new car would have been my better bet since u will most likely get more time and reliablity out of a newer car( and gas milage most likely). good luck with your decision and hopefully this might make ya feel a bit better knowing ur not really betraying the celica.
