I hate to tell some of you this, but just because you reformat doesn't mean they can't get the files that were on it

Probably so, I don't know everything, but I think it takes like 7 reformats to completely get rid of files. or so I hear Usually reformatting, regardless of how many times you do it, won't erase the data. It sets up tags in the directory that all the data can be over written, but is not. To really delete, a program which "zeros" a drive is needed, which instead of simply setting all the data as overwrittable, is actually sets all the data to 0's (or 01010101..., or 111111...). Thats the only way to make sure things aren't coming back. -------------------- psalm 69 |
