http://www.thestar.com/NASApp/cs/ContentSe...id=968332188492 QUOTE 172.1 (1) If a police officer has reason to believe that a person is driving, or has driven, a motor vehicle on a highway in a race, the officer may, (a) request that the person surrender his or her driver’s licence; (b) order the motor vehicle that was being driven by the person to be impounded; or (c ) both request the surrender of the driver’s licence as provided in clause (a) and order the motor vehicle to be impounded as provided in clause (b). [..] No appeal or review (9) There is no appeal or review from a licence suspension or impound order under this section. nitrous is gonna be illegal too wonder what they will consider 'enough reason' to impound a car/take someone's license This post has been edited by elvasoshexai: Jun 10, 2006 - 10:09 PM -------------------- |

>>But the devil is in the details, say advocates. Catching speeders is one thing, but police have found that proving they were racing is much more difficult. They hope this new law will lessen the burden of proof, says Brian Patterson, president of the Ontario Safety League.
Lessen the burden of proof. That is a disturbing statement. Back when I had my Celi (all of 2 weeks ago), I used to run at night with my blue neons on and I would get challenged by people all the time. I have NEVER participated in a street race, but had a cop been sitting in the right place at the right time, what would he thought of me and some stupid rice boy going cruising past him at 40? I probably would have lost my DL and my car for "street racing." This is a crappy way to go about fixing a much larger problem of stupid, irresponsible people with too much money and not enough common sense. ^turn off your neons! lol. jk, in florida, blue neons are illegal because they're used by emergency vehicles(police, ambulance, etc.). so if its illegal in ur area too, i wouldve busted u for street racing too.
