Even though I haven't been posting recently I would find a spare moment to check up on some topics and one I've been following is ice23q's build of the 5s-gte. Dag-gum it boy show me something more about it!!!!!!AHHHHHHHHH!!!!! It's driving me nuts. I've been thinking of this build and been doing much research. Another guy I follow is wraith on other celica/mr2 forums. It's killing me to see one up and running with some dyno sheets to go along with it. That's probably the one thing I haven't found is dyno sheets on one. Everyone knows how to build it though. I even e-mailed jim snoddgrass concering his and he told me that his broke down before he could dyno it and then he got rid of it.
Come on with it and quit leaving me in suspense!!!!! -------------------- CLOSED on 25 acres! -shop coming soon.... |

The 5s-gte is a hybrid motor (no, not gas-electric hybrid!). It uses the 5s-fe block (taller deck height and slightly stronger than the 3s) and a 3s-gte head. When done correctly (correct engine internals, correct water/oil passeges, etc.) it can give the best of both worlds - a stronger engine with more displacement, and the ability to flow a lot of air in and out of the motor. -Charlie -------------------- 2003 Subaru WRX Wagon

Check out mr2oc.com and do a search. There is a great thread there about the differences between the 3s and 5s block... There are even pictures of sliced open block and graphics showing the differences. -Charlie -------------------- 2003 Subaru WRX Wagon
