I'm not saying anything about hating on the car, but if you're going to treat a complicated piece of machinery like that, then you deserve what comes to you. Sure, we all do things that are not wise with our cars on occasion, and I'll be the first to admit that I have serious ADD on the road, hence my 2 fender benders and 1 totaled car in about 3 years of driving. However, I don't do crap like this to my car, because I respect it. If I blew up my car in this kind of situation, I would fully expect to be treated like that dumbass that an incident like this would make me.
