Ok, i know there is a sticky on this but i am still confused. I did the 3sgte swap and used my 5s tranny. all was well but now the diff bearing is shot and i guess i might as well swap the tranny. my friend has a 91 mr2 with a 5s in it , what will i need to do to put this tranny into my celica and make it work. I know it bolts to the engine but what about cables, axles , ect. ..... will it work , sorry to make anyone repeat this headache, just lost

QUOTE(CELICAKIDD324 @ Jun 28, 2006 - 10:40 PM) my friend has a 91 mr2 with a 5s in it If it's the same transmissioin, shouldn't it be a direct swap? Why is your friend giving you his transmission, even if there's something wrong with it you might be able to scrap parts from both tranx (yours and his) and be able to make one working transmission. Also when you swapped in the 3SGTE did you do any beafing up of the tranx? Because the 5s was built with 130bhp in mind while your new engine is putting out +260bhp. |
