4A question, Purple top?? Options

I was online earlier and found someone selling a 4A-GTE purple top with transmission, ecu, afm, ignitor, clutch ect. for 800 dollars. When I emailed him he just told me that it is 16V. So my question is, is when did Toyota make a purple top? or a 4A-GTE for that matter? I got lost in Club4AG, so I gave up there, but if anyone knows more info/specs that would be great. Thanks

Edit: This is a picture of the GZE that I can get. 40K miles out of a MR2. I can't use that transmission though, can I? Is it worth the 600-800 dollars? Also, why aren't the letters red, along with the spark plug cables? I thought they were like that...

i think he's trying to swindle you. the 4age never came with a factory turbo (super was on the mr2) and never came in 'purple top'

theres the black, red, and silver top, those are the only 3 i'm aware of.

there's also the bluetop 16v. and, its better to refer to them as largeport and smallport 16v, blacktop or silvertop 20v. because the 4age found in later mr2's have a red valvecover yet are largeport head design.
