man i dont know what to do. i borrowed my roommates bike and it got stolen at my buddys house. i even locked it up but they just cut the wire with a thick wire cutter and got 2 bikes. worst part is bike wasnt registered and the police said they cant do anything if it isnt registered. the bike was a giant rincon and cost 350 my roomate said. we dont have renters insurance so he is pretty much sol for the bike. but i dont see how i can be blamed for the whole incident, i mean i locked it up and everything but it was in the backally way but there are tons of cars around and stuff too. and they just had strong bike cutting equipment. im not got gonna pay 350 for a new bike for him. what do you guys think i can get for around 160 these days that is a normal mountain bike. and do u think that i owe him another bike even though he locks his bike up everynight outside in our front lawn. that could have just as easlily been cut and stolen.
