just like the topic says, i think this would be a very good little thread, just to give some insight for the newbs and dreamers as to what the swappers have done, what they went through, and how it's workin out to this day. feel free to add any info you wish, mainly the car type before, the new motor type, info about your personal swap (as all swaps are NOT created equal), a time frame, general cost, how is the performance, are you happy w/ it, etc... . let's see how big this list can get. .
-John- edit: btw, only post if you are DONE and driving the car. that's what i'm lookin for. -------------------- |

Bought a complete GT4 wreck. JDM 3S-GTE with 60K miles on it. Things I could use/take from it GT4 Rear Strut Bar + Leather Hose GT4 Front Brakes GT4 Hood GT4 Bumper parts (bumper itself destroyed) GT4 Engine+ everything needed (fuel pump etc etc) Beginning of May: Sold many stuff of the car in the period. Got the car picked up by a Mechanic to take out the engine and extend the wiring loom. 19th of May: Brought my car to the guy the swap the engine in. 20th of May: Old 3S-GE engine was pulled out. Installed new stock Clutch and switched the tranny onto the 3S-GTE 21th of May: 3S-GTE was put into the car. 22-25 of May: Electronics done, switched fuel pumpes/ relays/igniters etc etc. Installed GT4 Intercooler+ W2A Heat Xchanger welded new temp exhaust pipe from elbow to back axle. Car started immediatly after everything was put back. Did a few spins, no need for finetuning of compenents, only had to wait for a new flexpipe to be welded as the old one had a few minor holes in it. 26th of May: Welding was done car was finished, only had no time picking it up. 27th of May: Me and my nephew went to get the car. Took it for a spin there. The smile hasn't come of my face since then So this guys swapped the everything needed in only 5 days of work. Total hours he spend on the swap. Saterday: 4 hours Sunday: 4 hours Monday: 2 hours Thuesday: 2 hours Whensday: 3 hours Thursday: 3 hours Friday: 15 minutes Swap completed in under 19 hours of work.
