I saw this somewhere about removing the intake butterfly which i guess opens under increased throttle but closes at idle or something like this. Can you remove the intake butterfly on our cars if we even have one? Will it help etc. etc...

the butterfly valve should fly open at full throttle or close to it. i dont think it would make much of a difference if you took it out, cuz when u slam it (wanting speed/power/acceleration) it flys open. but when your just normally driving i believe it is constantly opening/closing (so it looks like a butterfly's wings) but that is just what makes sense, i have never looked at my throttle body while just chillin. but if it was closed, then no air to the engine... so no combustion. i dont see how it would make much of a difference, i would buy a new throttle body( a bigger one) before i took out my butterfly valve. its there for a reason, not exactly sure why, but unless you are a hardcore racer it is prolly better to leave it in there. and the valve opens all the way in a split second, and the stock airbox pretty much prevents any water from getting into the intake.

after thinking a bit more, its prolly as good a mod as "better ground wires" but i could be wrong. just seems a bit ridiculous. wiggle.gif
