Well I am not exactly sure where this topic should fall. I was originally thinking electrical, then maintenance, but I decided to put it under Forced Induction since I figure only people running a turbo go through the trouble of installing guages, especially a boost!
So I have been searching and searching gauges across the net and there are so many different ranges on them. I have seen EGT gauges that have a max of 1200F and some that have a 2400F max, so I was hoping that all of you running turbos could give me what your normal operating range is and what the max I should get would be. Also if you could state if its a 3SGTE or a 5SFTE that would be great. I am planning on building a 5SFTE so that is what I am most interested in, so once again Manny I am hoping to get an answer from you. Thanks in advance! Of course all others I am hoping to get your feedback! So basically let me know all of your gauges, oil pressure, boost, egt, oil/water temp, etc. Not saying I am getting all the gauges but thought it would be nice to know. Thanks. I guess I have never had a vehicle with gauges that monitor temperatures or pressures. Do they vary quite a bit?
How do you know when the temp or pressure is too high/low? That is sort of what I am looking for eventually. Once I get gauges I would want to know what is normal so I would actually know if I was operating too low/high. -------------------- |
