Hi there everyone. Recently i have bought new 17inch rims for my celi and i use 225/45/R17 tyre. This weekend a mechanic told me that the tyres size it's not correct and that it's higher than normal. I 've been told that i should use 215/45 tyres otherwise the 225/45 tyre will cause many problems to the car!!! I really don't know what to do since the tyres are almost new and i don't want to replace them. I would appreciate any advise and any information from you guys......

I ran a 225/45/17 on a 7in wide rim with a +48 offset (tucked like a mofo). Front wheels turned totally in would rub the inner fender linner slightly (no big deal).
You can run 235/40/17 with a +35 offset and be lowered and still not rub the fender lips on 6th gens. This post has been edited by bufferdan: Aug 7, 2006 - 9:12 AM -------------------- ![]() |
