I just got a new engine swapped in..., New Engine Options

I just got a low milage engine swapped in...and I was wondering wut octane level I should use....I'm not sure if it's a 5sfe or a 3sfe all I know is it's JDM....and I read that using regular octane levels makes the engine preform better. Is that true?

I know about octanes levels, I just wanted to make sure it does knock or anything. I just got it put in and I don't want to mess my engine. But Thanx again Neophile.
