thats why its so loud then. instead of trying a silencer, try to have your exhaust guy move the muffler back a little so that the tip sticks out past the bumper. if the muffler tip is flush with the bumper, the sound will just resonate throught the whole car, making it much louder and more annoying.
i have a full 3in exhaust from the turbo back, with no cats or resonators and my magnaflow is fairly quiet and not at all annoying. -------------------- 15PSI - 30MPG - Megasquirt Tuned
