So im going to be wrapping my 7th gen GTS rims with tires this week. They are 16x6.5 wide. I was thinkin, maybe, possibly, trying to fit a 225/45 tire on them.

Would this work? Manny? I want a wide tire for auto x events and what not. OR, would i be better off going with a 215/45 tire. Another thing that i should add is, i have a pretty big drop thanks to the intrax lowering springs. But they are only 16's. Last question. Currently, i have the stock 15 BBS wheels on there with beefy 205/65 tires on. Would the 225/45/16 tire lower the car more due to a reduced side wall? If so, that would be awesome. Well let me know what you think. Thanks.

225-45-16 tires have a mounting rim width approved range of 7-8.5" with a measuring rim width of 7.5". although you might be able mount the tire on a 6.5" rim, its not recommended and unsafe to do so.

if i were you, i would get 225-50-16. i have 205-50-16 currently.

here are some options,

as you can see 6.5" rim width is not in range for 225-45-16

by the way, are you sure you dont have 205-55-15's on now? if you are running a 65 series (id be surpised with no rubbing on a dropped celi), pretty much any tire you throw on your new wheels will lower your cars ground clearance as the overall diameter will be less.

I think Bigfoot is blurry, that's the problem. It's not the photographer's fault. Bigfoot is blurry. And that's extra scary to me, because there's a large, out-of-focus monster roaming the countryside.
