I know this has been covered a million times, but i though it wouldn't hurt to get some opinions for my car. I desperately need new tires so i want to get rims at the same time. I will be putting them on a 94 hatch with a recent 3sgte swap.
I had 17's and i liked them, but the tires that were on them were tiny and it made it look weird since there was still a huge fender gap etc. I have always loved 18's but i also don't want to be driving on rims and no tire... so my question is out of this style rim, VSW Vortex what do you recommend for size and tire size to go on them? I'd love the 18x8 or maybe 18x9? thanks everyone |

I'd definitely go with 17" with a 45-series tire as well for the reasons listed above - lighter, better ride quality, more rim protection, cheaper.
Keep in mind though, that your speedometer will be off with a larger tire. With 215/45/17 tires on my Celica, my speedometer is off by approximately 8%. It's a minor thing and well worth it for having better ride quality. -------------------- New Toyota project coming soon...
