so yea, over a year later..i finally broke down and bought a wideband. lol
i figured it'd be nice to actually tune the car off boost...lmao rather than just adjusting things by feel..lol i knew i wanted somthing that had datalogging capabilitys, so i started looking around at some of the units out there... since i did not need a display, (ill be using a laptop for display and datalogging) i ended up getting the Zetronix unit, because it includes datalogging capabilitys, with A/F, RPM, TPS, (all included with no extras to buy) and can also log EGTs (it comes with a pigtail to make an extension if you already have one, or you can buy the probe from them) and boost. the sensor range is 9.5:1 - 21:1 it does have an optional display,so that you can have a standalone display setup, if thats what you want/need. heres a pic of everything you get when you order the unit. heres a screenshot of the logging/display screen. ill have some datalogs and more screenshots for you guys later this week. -------------------- Former Team 5SFTE pro member ;)

just got back from doing a little more logging...ill add a few pics later, but the basic idea is that i am kinda on the lean side everywhere between 15-50% throttle.
having this data really shows where the SAFCII is lacking for our applications, because your a/f ratio is much more throttle position based than it is rpm based. i can do some very basic things with the SAFC as far as the points at which the hi and low throttle maps kick in and such, but really tuning for load points like we should be doing is basicly non exsistant with the SAFC. now i REALLY understand why guys like noshoes and john reed wont even touch cars with these types of units on them..lol -------------------- Former Team 5SFTE pro member ;)

QUOTE so what I'm beginning to understand around here, is that for a swap you go to Tweak, and for tuning, it's all presure man I love 6gc's! naaa, man...im just a guy, with a car. im still learning TONS about this stuff, just like all of you. one thing i really try and get across to everyone here is its all about learning as much as we can. trust me man, talk to anyone that really knows me, they'll tell ya, im not dumb, but i am by FAR not the sharpest pencil in the box..lol i just spend time researching things, asking questions where i have to, and learning as i go along. ill tell ya this tho...having this wideband is quickly putting the whole puzzle together for me now. -------------------- Former Team 5SFTE pro member ;)
