i have a little scenario i need help with. i used to play online poker frequently back in around february. so to put money into the online account i used echecks, which you basically just type all the information of a check and send money. so i send 50$ and 50$ is automatically put into my account. a month or so later they send me an email saying they never actually received the 50 and basically credited my account with 50 but had nothing to show for it. so they say i need to wire them 50. i say just take the 50 out of my account, its still there. they say that they cant do that and i must wire them 50.
i basically just decide to leave it alone because it doesnt really make any sense for me to send 50 when in the end they will have to send me 50 back (because i would have just withdrew the 50 i had in my account). i still havent touched the money left in my account (i dont even think my account works anymore) so now i get an email months later (i assume because i let my friend use the software on my computer to get on his account name) saying i still have an "outstanding amount" and if i dont respond within a few days they will hand it over to their "collections agency" and they remind me of the "adverse effects this action could have on your credit score." but i dont even have my own credit card yet so can that effect me? also...i want to know what could happen to me basically if i dont wire them money. thanks guys btw the place they want me to wire it is a british overseas territory. |
