as i was driving today i thought about all the stuff i bought for my car and how much they cost. so just wondering... how much money have you guys spent on your car after you bought it? not counting basic maintenance and what-not. i bought my car for $5000. and so far i've spent about $2146 during the 1 year and 6 months i've had my car.

$0 for performance upgrades
$0 for exterior stuff total spent? $9500 for the car. add in maintenance cost over the years, 2 $250 deductables, and I guess I've spent I dunno, maybe $11,000 total? I bought the car with 56,000 miles on it 5 years ago. it's not worth it to me to mod it. 99% of the time, money you spend on modifying a car you will never, ever see again. i wouldn't mind a gt-four front end and all that jazz, but spending 1/5th of what the car costs on a hood, bumper and paint just doesn't seem worth it to me. instead of performance, i bought a 2003 GSXR-600. that's $65 a month for the payments, and it can blow the doors off of anything that can't run 11 second quarter miles.
