IMPORT/TUNER CULTURE DYING??, heard NOPI in atlanta SUCKED ARSE! Options

hey people! i heard nopi nationals sucked! there werent alot of cars from what i understand. the entry fee was like 85 bucks!?!? WTF?? I would have went but the transplant wasnt ready. glad i didnt go!
the past charlotte Hot import nights sucked too...
anybody go out there?

does anybody know why the car shows have really been sucking lately? is the tuner culture dying? its not what it used to be.... or maybe its just me.

i don't think its dyin out, its just being a little more discreet. I went street racing the other night, i know; not smart, but most of the guys out there were cool. It was awesome to be able to hang out and run with guys who just wanted to run their cars, no egos that night. No punks who with egos bigger than their spoilers!!! Just guys who want to chill and have some fun.

I think you hit the nail on the head! I too have noticed this trend but its not that import tuning is dying, its just that people are becoming more aware that their cars can be taken away. at least in cali for that matter. Ive been to a few car meets recently (not street races) and the turn outs are substantially smaller than about 2years ago. Before the swap was looking forward to showing off my work at meets but i find myself telling people that i have a turbo charged celica, rather than showing them. Im paranoid of cops showing up to these meets and pulling people over.

I have the feeling more and more people are feeling this way my friends are all looking for the quiet upgrade or the subtle bodykit... not sure if thats a good or a bad thing.
