i just want to know if u swap a motor, do u have to tell insurance companies....do they check the id number on your engines.... do u get penalized if they found out that your engines not the same or your car isnt polution proof.....i want to know this cause i want to swap my motor but the sites that i ve been through, it seems like theres a big fee to swap a motor........so im just wondering whats the safest way to swap a motor into my celica....please all in details.... biggrin.gif

Speaking from experience id let them know everything, if the companies worth paying for they wont be too stoopid about things.
In the Uk we have specialist insurance companies that will deal with this sort of thing specifically, im sure youd have them in the states.
My advice would be to ask your current insurers how it will affect things, if they want to empty youre wallet, put it on hold untill your renewal date then shop around.
Whatever you do, dont just keep it a secret, you wouldnt drive without any insurance and thats effectively what youd be doin.
