the problem with the safc is that most people buy it, without even knowing what the hell they need it for. so they end up making corrections, without any way to monitor knock, or a/f and then they have problems. or they take it to their "tuner" who starts taking out a ton of fuel all over the place.
i have had one laying around for a while, so i decided to install it and use it for whatever monitoring functions it has. then maybe play around with adding a tiny bit of fuel in a few spots to allow for more boost. as long as you only add fuel, dont make big corrections, and have a way to monitor what your car is doing, then it should be just fine. the real reason the safc gets a bad rep, is when people try to use it with 550cc injectors and have to take out lots of fuel all over the place. -------------------- 15PSI - 30MPG - Megasquirt Tuned

If you are using it to add fuel without lowering base fuel pressure, you won't make any more power - you will just exacerbate the problem with the stock ECU running so rich. -------------------- QUOTE(lagos @ Jul 10, 2006 - 1:55 PM) i know your trying to do the right thing for your motor, but this is one of those times where you should just trust the guys who have had their swaps for a while and have done a ton of research into this. |
