Has anybody tried to put 8" subs where the rear speakers are at in a hatchback

Actually, it should be the other way around, you put the 8" midsubs on the door, which is towards the bottom of the door where your feet are.
If you have the 8 speaker system, you could do wonders, with nice infinity speakers (kappas if you can afford it) for the 6.5/6.75 rear speakers, modify to fit 4" speakers, kickers or pioneer 8' midsubs on the door, titanium tweeters where the factory tweeters are, and get a hard pounding sub for the rear like JL, kicker, boston acoustics, or rockford, take your pick. You might wanna run an amp for your speakers other than the sub as well. Youll have lotsa fun, cus our celicas have lotta speakers to work with.
