Hey fellow 6gc fans,

My alternator just went out on my 94, and i have figured out that it is time for a better alternator (especially when u are running 1300w RMS), and I have a yellow top on the way. I have heard about the recoiled alternators that can put out double what the original alternator puts out. I need some information if any one has any on the following:

1) How many amps the alternator puts out
2) Will it fit the 94 celica st hatchback (manual)
3) How much does it cost,
4) WHERE THE HELL DO I GET IT??!?

If some one could let me know i would appreciate it. Thanks! Ed.

Could always get a power capacitor?

Just remember capacitor don't fix the problem with the charging system they only hide it... and in some cases make it worse. The reason lights dim when subs hit it the sudden draw of power that the alternator can't keep up with. The cap fills in the gap but if the subs keep hitting the cap get drained and then the amp and cap are trying to pull power off of the already overworked alternator making things worse.

Take you dead alternator and get it rewound for a higher output. Also replace all of the wires in your charging system. Power and ground atleast 4 guage.
